In honor of my first "food" photo added to my blog and Mother's Day, I am giving away one of my family cookbooks. It contains all the recipes on my blog and many more. My giveaways will be no where as elaborate as Pioneer Woman's but it will still be fun and you have a better chance of winning. Somehow I doubt that I will get 11,000+ comments wanting to win my cookbook!
All you have to do is:
Name 5 things that make you smile!
You have until 7:00 Central time tonight and then I will pick a random winner! So go post...go, go, go!

The ONE day I don't check in here and look what happens!! Waaaaaaaaaaah !!!
Oh well just for fun I'll give you 5 things that made me smile yesterday while I wasn't coming in here winning a cookbook ... LOL !!
1. Going to bingo with my Mom and Dad, winning a couple of pots and the smiles on their faces when I passed over their third.
2. Taking my Mom and Dad to the Gwen Fox Gallery and checking out all the terrific art. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they realize that some of my work is hanging there.
3. Standing in the dark and waiting for my brother to come home last night. It was his 50th birthday and his wife had arranged a surprise for him.
4. Having my nephew wrap his arm around my shoulder and with a big ol' grin on his face tell me that his boss/sponsor just purchased the speedway that he races at. (I admit my smile at that point was kinda evil because my first thought was that the nasty announcer that has been working there is likely history ... hehehe... I'm still smiling about that one !)
5. Getting the phone call from my daughter that said her plane has landed and she's back home and she and Don are on their way to buy groceries to stock the kitchen at their townhouse that they just got possession of.
Hmmm... upon reflection I really did have a great day yesterday.
Glenda, I am so glad you had a great day!
You get a cookbook in August when you come and see me so you were disqualified from the get go LOL!
So are we hearing any wedding bells yet for Jess and Don??
Oh and I think I'll have another give away next week for anyone who missed this one so stay tuned!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to get it.
Jess and Don are so in love it's just wonderful to be around them. The marriage talk is starting but no "official" engagement and honestly I don't know if the two of them will go the standard wedding route. They're talking about getting married on a trip....sending invitations to everyone and telling them when and where and if they want to be there that'd be great but if they can't come they'll be having a party when they get back. Of course, one never knows with my kid! LOL For a long time they both said they didn't want kids, that they were going to raise puppies!! Today she mentioned it again and they're waffling. Last thing she mentioned was IF they decided to kids they were thinking one of their own and one adopted. I just smile and nod. LOL !
Oh I remember those days. Everyone was saying get married! Get Married! But we just waited until we were good and ready (2 1/2 years) and then it was have a baby! Have a baby! Waited another 4 years to have our first. We did things when we were ready and I wouldn't change a thing. Jess is a great young woman and I am so proud of everything she has accomplished.
