Another Magazine Give Away!

Photobucket
It was such a hit last time, I thought I'd do it again!
I am giving away a years subscription to your choice of Reiman Publications. I love Birds and Blooms, Country Woman and Taste of Home. If you are chosen as the winner, you should receive your first magazine in 6-8 weeks. Just in time for getting settled into cooler weather and the fall and winter months.

I'll pick a winner next Saturday, September 4, 2010....that gives you a week to comment and send friends this way. You don't have to be a follower but I would love it if you decide to be.

To enter, just leave me a comment about your favorite fall festivities. We did winter last time so we can't leave out fall! I'm always torn between spring and fall as my favorite time of year so I'll just enjoy both of them to the fullest while they are here! We love to visit the pumpkin patch, carve Jack-O-Lanterns and decorate with fall colors, hay bales and corn shocks, have wiener roasts and hayrides and spend a few nights camping in our tent under the stars. I love sweatshirt weather!

What do you and your family do during this beautiful time of year?

If you are chosen for this give away, you get to pick one of these magazines:
Birds and Blooms
Country
Country Woman
Farm and Ranch Living
Healthy Cooking
Simple and Delicious
Reminisce
Taste of Home

Reiman Publications is not aware of or endorsing this give away. I just like their magazines and want to share with my wonderful readers.

Comments must be in by Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Central time. Winner will be announced shortly after! Good luck!

Such a great idea for a giveaway. My favourite fall activities are going to all the local fairs. We have one each weekend for the next six weekends. Our oldest son is in 4-H Beef, Dairy, Rabbit and tractor clubs so it keeps us hopping.

OH I would LOVE to win!!! :o)

I love *everything* about fall...but one of my favorite things is my inlaws have this big fall festival...I am usually *working* at it...but I still love it. Homemade apple butter being made, on scene, making homemade cider, vendors selling their wares....it's all absolutely wonderful!!! :)

What I love about Fall, and what I love to do is if I am driving from one town to another, have the windows of the truck open, and hear the wind running thru the dried corn stalks, and seeing the farmers out with their combines harvesting. But I think my favorite is the scent of tobacco drying in the barns - not that I endorse using the tobacco, I just love the smell. Thanks for the giveaway - I'd love to win! Take care, from Fayette Co KY.

I'm a great fall fan. But every year our family does it's annual fall pilgrimage to the local orchard. It's only a mile up the road, but the guy is so nice, the apples big and beautiful and it's a great photo op for us as a family. The apple trees are also just the right height for adults and kids to pick without a ladder.

Then we come home and I make lots and lots of applesauce.

I just love the coolness of fall and the anticipation of slowing down for the winter months.

Halloween is also big here. The only time of year that we can be whatever we want to be. I get dressed up with our son and go trick or treating.

I decorate more for fall than I do Christmas. I have already started dragging out fall decorations. We have bonfires every weekend during fall. The grown ups sit around and talk while the neighborhood kids roast hotdogs and marshmellows. We take the neighborhood kids on a couple of hayrides, have kids visiting the farm and seeing their faces as they look at the animals and fall decorations is my favorite part.

I love fall. No, I LOVE fall!!!! My mood changes entirely with cool breezes and colored leaves. I get great joy from pulling my boxes of sweater out and reacquainting myself with them. I live in sweaters and jeans with boots or clogs. I like to make anything and everything I possibly can with apples. Hubby got me four bushels that were as big as grapefruits last year. They were amazing! I will get some chili going with the first hint of cooler weather. I like local festivals, fairs, and craft shows. I love to take my camera and walk all over our farm. Okay, now I'm ready! Come on fall. Oh, and I'd like to be entered in the magazine giveaway.

I think one of the things I love most about fall are the beautiful colors and cooler weather. The humidity leaves the air and you can slow down a bit to enjoy a breath of that air. Halloween is my favorite holiday! This is a very nice giveaway you are hosting.

We live in apple country AND are also on a scenic route for fall colors. Put the two together and one can't help but to love fall. So making applesauce and baking pies is one of our seasonal favorites along with fall decorating and harvesting.

Oh fall, beautiful oranges, yellows, and reds. I love to step out on my porch and deeply breath the crisp air. The smells of bon fires and candy corn, the sounds of leaves crunching underfoot. Fall is my favorite.

My family goes to a local roadside farmstand and go on a hayride and pick our favorite pumpkins. We bring them home, pick out our designs and start carving. While the boys are carving, I roast the seeds for snacking later. After the pumpkins are carved, we sit around the bon fire and make tons of s'mores!

Thanks for such a great give away!

Great giveaway! There isn't a Reiman publication that I don't like.

Let's see... there is so much to love about fall. I enjoy our annual family reunion get away, going to a fall festival for an ear of corn and an elephant ear. Taking a long drive to see the beautiful leaves. Like you I have a hard time choosing if spring or fall is my favorite.

For me fall begins with my oldest daughter's birthday in early October. Since we live in south Florida the traditional fall activities I grew up with have to be tweaked a bit. Last year, instead of the big pile of maple leaves my husband and I used to jump in, we pruned our banana and papaya trees and made the kids a pile. They were beside themselves! Their favorite activity has to be the church pumpkin patch. They love running all around the hundreds of pumpkins. And then getting to actually bring some home is the best part!

Autumn is a relief from the hot Arizona sun. We enjoy being outside more, going to parks, having picnics, participating in sports. It's harvest time, too, so it means the canners are out, the counters are lined with jars and the pantry is filled with jams, salsas and other goodies.

I absolutely love fall! My birthday is on the "original" Columbus Day (Oct. 12th) so maybe that is why I love it so much. A couple years before my husband passed away we were able to take a trip to New England for a few days. It was soooooo gorgeous!! Color everywhere! Now I have an opportunity to travel there again this fall with a new friend (male companion) and I am so looking forward to that! There is nothing like autumn in New England, be it Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine! The only sad thing is my favorite restaurant in Woodstock, New Hampshire, the Roadkill Cafe, went out of business! Soooo sorry to learn of that! Love your pic btw!

The best thing about fall for me was years ago when we belonged to a church that had lots of activities throughout the year. But fall was even more wonderful, and my favorite because we'd go to a couples home and have our version of "Octoberfest". We all took German food to share, but one man always went somewhere in Pennsylvania and got the most incredible bratworst we've ever had. After stuffing ourselves, we had another member who was a squaredance caller, and we had a squaredance in a small, cozy barn.....It was always so much fun! Then after we'd finish dancing we'd have a wonderful bondfire with piping hot mulled apple cider. Then, the people who owned the property had to move because a new road was going through where their house sat. So, the man who always brought the brat's had Octoberfest at his home. He had lots of land with winding roads all through it. We didn't have the dance, but we did go for long hayrides, weaving through his property that used to belong to a nursery, and then a bondfire with the cider. That house is gone now also, lost to a road and new shopping center, but I'll always remember those evenings we spent with good friends, eating good food, and having the time of our lives!

Saying goodbye to summer is bittersweet. The trees say thier final farewell with a great display of colors. I love summer, and am equally in love with fall. One of my favorite fall events is the Fall Farm Foliage Tour.It is a drive is yourself tour of area farms. It is a great way to appreciate our local farmers, and see the beautiful fall colors.I also love the smells of fall. Hot apple cider and pumpkin pie are some of my favorite. Yum! I can taste it already!!
