Magazine Give Away

Photobucket
Putting up all this produce for the winters months got me to thinking about those cold winter days and watching the birds at the feeder, snuggling on the couch with a good magazine and drinking a cup of hot cocoa. The temp got up to 101 here today so it's not easy to imagine that scene right now but it will be here before we know it. Some of my favorite magazines are from Reiman Publications. Birds and Blooms, Country Woman and Taste of Home are my three favorites. My give away today is a years subscription to one of their magazines. Why? Because I'm ordering mine right now so I'll have plenty of reading material come those cold winter days.

I'll pick a winner next Saturday, July 31st....that gives you a week to comment and send friends this way. You don't have to be a follower but I would love it if you decide to be. Just leave me a comment about what you love to do during the winter months when there's less canning, gardening, farming, etc. taking up all your time.

You can email me with your choice of magazine if you win.
The choices are:
Birds and Blooms
Country
Country Woman
Farm and Ranch Living
Healthy Cooking
Simple and Delicious
Reminisce
Taste of Home

Reiman Publications is not aware of or endorsing this give away. I just like their magazines and want to share with my wonderful readers.

Comments must be in by Saturday, July 31st at 9:00 a.m. Central time. Winner will be announced shortly after! Good luck!

Wow! Am I glad I was on right now. haha. Hmmm what do I do?Well...homeschooling, maple syrup, regular farm chores...but what I REALLY love to do is cozy up with Hubby after the kids are asleep and read a good book or watch a good movie. I also try to catch up on crafts. Of the magazines...I think Country is the one I would pick. And by the way... what an awesome idea for a give away. It's like getting a new gift each month....and how cool is that! I am definately going to re-post and send some people your way. Have a Blessed Day!

I love to read when I am not so busy, but around here we are as busy taking care of our critters in the winter as we are any oter time of year, we have to haul all the water from the house to the barn and with everything we have thats a lot of water to haul
another thing I love doing is taking pictures and useing them in my 3d art work I use my computer to make it, I adore faerie's, elves, and mermaids the most

What a fun giveaway!

In the winter, I read, crochet, and have my grandbabies quite often. That's when it all gets caught up :) In between trying new things I've found I MUST do! LOL!

Like you I am dreaming for winter. My favorite time of the year. I am outside alot caring for our animals, farm chores, etc and you can only take off so many clothes in this heat and humidity. Winter I can bundle up and enjoy being outside. We heat with wood so I love sitting by the woodstove in my rocking chair. I have a large basket that holds my bible, books, and magazines. Love to read but winter is about the only time I can leisurely read and enjoy each page.

In the winter I bake alot of cookies for the holidays, I try new bread recipes and enjoy sewing more, I try to work on my projects that are always waiting. In January I love to pore over the new seed catalogs. I also am a RN, who is looking for a more flexible way to work and a financially cheaper way of life so that I can pursue that simpler lifestyle.

In the winter we homeschool but I love to bake, sew, catch up on housework, read, and snuggle with the family on the couch.

Found this giveaway and your blog from The Self-Sufficient Life.

I am following now and will post about this on my blog soon!

Hmmm, let's see...in the winter I spend time catching up on indoor projects that I never seem to get around to. This winter I plan on making curtains and new covers for my kitchen chairs and removing wallpaper border. I also like to do lots more reading, researching, and planning for next year's garden. Thanks for getting my mind off the awful heat and humidity by thinking about wintertime..brrr!

Hi,
This is the first time I've come over to your blog, although I recognize you from Chickens in the Road and your participation in the forum and comments on Suzanne's posts.
In the winter, I love to read and write and BAKE! I love making bread- and in the winter I work on recipes and techniques of shaping.
I knit. I watch old movies. I play with my grandsons.
This is a neat give away- I like the idea of sharing a subscription. May I borrow your idea? I should have a give away on my blog soon.
Thanks,
Heidi

Great giveaway! I already have a subscription to Farm and Ranch Living. If anyone reads that magazine, our farm is going to be in the diary section in the next edition! I spend most of my time in the Winter either in the chicken houses or cooking and baking, decorating, undecorating, trying to keep warm!

I love your blog! I love to read and will read anything. My favorite magazines would have to be Maryjanes Farm, Hobby Farms, Country Livestock and Journal, and Backwoods Home.

Thank you for a chance to win!!

Ooh, I'd love a chance to win. :)

I love baking in the winter. Warms up the house and it's good to make something like homemade backed macaroni and cheese or some cut out cookies. Yum!

I also like to take the kids sledding. It reminds me of when I was kid and then I don't feel so far removed from those days. It's great making new memories with my own.

And of course lastly, I love starting a fire in our fireplace and watching a movie with James. :)

I happened upon your blog while making the rounds of other blogs I follow. I'm glad I did!

I still watch the birds in winter ('real' birds, not just my chickens) and although I crochet year 'round, I step it up in winter. Nothing like having a warm afghan to work on while watching TV!

(Tried to 'follow' and it's not working, but I did add you to my blogroll)

There are so many things I like to do in the winter. Read, organize the house so I can be outside in the summer, I just taught myself to crochet so I will be doing that, watch movies, Those are just a few. I am now a follower.

I would love to win this!
Early on winter mornings, while my fellows hover in sweet slumber. I put on my walkers, head down the drive, to the river below my house. The waters call to me, as they slide over the frozen rocks, "Come, hear us. Come". The trail follows the ebbs and swells, the deep mists echo the sighs of quiet sublime. Birds help me along, brightening the white gray green with their coats of color. They help me hear the earths gentle voices, far removed from the noise and chaos of the hurrying world. I listen, I praise, I am renewed for my duty to the day. Reluctantly as I begin my trek homeward, I whisper "I'll be back,on the morrow. I'll be back". I ponder the silence, of the hushed wind, my shoes crunching on the frosty path, my heart turns homeward to my sweet fellows, a warm kitchen full of kneaded goodies, and at night a warm blanket, a comfy chair by the heat, a good companion book. Yet, as the dusk falls on the distant murmuring winds through the pines, the voice calls, "Come, again, when you can. We will speak of the good creation, and show you our ways. Come, when you can". I sleep in peace and with hopeful expectancy while winter coats my world in white.

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier today. I think I do remember seeing you at Chickens on the Road before. I'd like to enter your giveaway, and think that Farm and Ranch sounds like a good magazine. During the winter, I like to crochet. I haven't been doing that very long, so am still learning, but I'd also like to learn to knit, as well as quilt on a sewing machine. Maybe I can learn those skills this winter. Thanks for the giveaway - from one KY gal to another. Take care, from Fayette Co. And I am a new follower as of today.

Sold the farm a year ago and now live in the city but I still live vicariously through this wonderful blog. I am in Manitoba Canada so I know all about winter and my winters now involve painting, carving and heading someplace warmer whenever I can!

Don't worry about entering me in the contest for the subscription as one to Canada will cost you more! (I will however stake my claim to a bed in your wonderful log home at some time in the future!)

Love you to bits my girl ! This blog rocks!

Popping back in to invite everyone to join Manning Motorsports facebook page. KentuckyFarmgGirl has provided a link to the page at the top.. click Canadian Racing!

I recycle, reuse and reduce whenever I can and when I had a garden and livestock it was definately "green". GOING GREEN now has a duel meaning for me. Aside from a few small city flower beds my summers of playing in the dirt mostly means cheering for my nephew at dirt tracks in Canada and the US.

LOL Now how's THAT for shameless promotion!?!?
