The flood waters are VERY slowly receding.
Many people are still waiting to get back to their homes.
I talked to a friend of ours who was able to drive out from their house for the first time yesterday. The roads have been blocked on all sides by water for weeks.
It's also the time of year for Amish strawberries!
I put 14 quarts in the freezer and made 10 pints of strawberry jam this year. We still have a few left from last year so I'm finished with strawberries for this season.
Next will be cherries!
If it ever stops raining and dries out enough,
I'll get my garden planted!

Sorry to see the flooding, hope it recedes soon. But strawberry jam is always a good thing! Looks like you have a nice big garden, Happy Planting:@)
I do hope the waters continue to recede. Such a horrible thing. Hopefully, you'll be able to get in the garden soon. I'm so behind in my garden, but I'm hoping to get it cleaned off and tilled and planted soon. Oh, I am so behind! The jam looks great. I have a lot of blossoms on my strawberries, and it's looking like I'll have a bumper crop.
It is so sad all the flooding going on. I can not imagine living with that. We are actually needing rain. Your strawberry jam looks so pretty and I now it will be delicious. We bought a gallon of berries from a local farm this week and I froze some of them.
We are all going to need a garden with the way prices are going up.
Love,
Marie
Seeing flooded land is so awful :(
I hope you're able to get planting soon.... I'm just in and have put my feet up - what a fantastic feeling it is to ache with tiredness having spent the day planting! x
Those floods are so awful! I'm glad to hear you and yours are OK.
Here in the southwest we are look at triple digit heat and hitting the swimming pool~ wouldn't it be nice if we could switch weather for just a few days?
The strawberry jam looks delightful! None ready here yet. Can't even get ours planted for all the rain. :)
Your strawberry jam looks sooo good. :) Hoping the flood waters have gone down by now. We live in ND where you probably saw we have HORRIBLE flooding....thousands of people are out of their homes with water up to the roofs or over. We live onlly 12 miles from the flooding but thankfully our farm or land is not affected. HOpe you can stop by and say hi! :)
