Red spent a few days fighting to recovery from what I assume was an attack by the gander but didn't make it.
It makes me very sad to lose Red. He started out as Sampson but quickly became known as Red and was loved by all of us.
He was a gently giant with the boys. They could could even pick him up and carry him around.
They loved to feed him food from their hands.
Yet, he was fearless when it came to protecting his ladies!
He will be missed! It's hard to find a good rooster!!

Aww Im so sorry to hear this news, hugs and prayers to you and your family! It truly is hard to find a good rooster , I wish you tons of luck finding a suitable rooster in the future as Im sure there can never be a total replacement for RED !!!:0)

I'm sorry. Losing an animal/pet is so hard at any time....
So sorry you lost Red. Truly a good rooster is hard to come by.
So sorry....most people don't relalize how special pets are to people.
I'm so sorry!!! He will be most difficult to replace. Not too many kind and gentle roosters out there... :(
